Double beat hop: A never seen before jaw dropping live drum ensemble consisting of kit drums, congas, surdos, Beat Boxer and percussion performed in a raw acoustic and unplugged performance with a cosmopolitan and diverse dance troupe, showcasing styles such as: Hip hop, breakdance/ B boy, contemporary and a fusion of Salsa and African dance.

Hip-Hop Originated from underground street dancing and became a way of life as well as a way to survive the gangsta territories and drug invested worn torn streets of LA, New York and many concrete jungles all over the world.... This dance form was a way of life but ultimately a weapon used to “battle” (to compete in a dance competition) to gain respect amongst the street dancers. Hip-Hop is now a recognised and a world renowned respected dance form.

The Rhythm of the Drum is symbolic to all human’s, we hear the pulsating beat of our mother’s heart when we are in her stomach, drums are primal, drums are stirring, drums are moving and drums are used to communicate to ancestors to stir up enthusiasm before war, healing and best of all for dance, releasing happy endorphins while celebrating. Double Beat Hop was born when Phenix Dance Productions formed a calibration with Drums and Rhythm to produce a unique and international production; both these organisations have been around for more than a decade and are the leaders in their game.
