Briefing:
- We will divide your group of delegates into two equal separate groups, a drumming group and a gumboot dancing group.
- We will provide a drum and various percussion instruments for the drummers.
- A pair of gumboots with ankle shakers, overalls and a bandana or mining hat to each dancer.) NB! PLEASE BRING LONG THICK SOCKS.
- The drummers will learn two basic rhythms, a break and a traditional song, while the dancers learn a choreographed traditional gumboot dance and a mine workers song.
- For the first hour the delegates will learn their specific rhythms/dance routines, and for the last ½ hour, our head facilitator will bring the teams together to perform their own industrial theatre.
- The drummers will perform their rhythms and song to the dancers
and in turn, the dancers will perform their dance, showcasing the rhythm and sounds created by the clapping of hands, bodies and the stamping of their boots.
- This will end on a high note, with the company performing as a team, with enthusiasm and synergy, culminating into an evening of drum and dance. An experience never to be forgotten.!

Requirements
:
- A leveled area to form a drumming circle with enough space in the inside for the gumboot dancers to perform.
- A leveled space for the dancers to learn their routine (Separate from the drumming circle and far enough so that the dancers can hear the facilitators).
- An approximate indication of gumboot sizes (a male/female split figure should give us a fair idea.
- Take weather into consideration. Arrange a plan B with the venue incase of sudden weather changes.
- If at night (outside), make sure the lighting of the venue is good.
Great Idea – Arrange a big bonfire to the Drumming around at night.
